Hi, I’m Ariel.
Based in St. Louis, I’m a freelance editor, writer, and knitting teacher. You can find more about that last one here.
Two years ago, my sister-in-law, Michelle of Making Sense of Cents, approached me about editing her blog. I jumped at the opportunity, probably because I’ve always been one of those people that cringes at spelling and punctuation errors, but I also wanted to see how I could help Michelle’s blog grow with experienced editing support.
Making Sense of Cents is a Plutus Award winning blog with a reach of over 400,000 page views per month. It has been featured on Forbes, CNBC, O Magazine, MSN, and Business Insider.
I’ve always loved writing, but while in college, my love for writing and editing grew as I learned how to craft long-form narratives using interviews, research, and plenty of detail work. I even grew to love the analytical and rhetorical work that pressed me to uncover a text’s meaning and connect it to theoretical approaches. I guess I like working to get a point across, and while the academic writing I do is very different from the online content I edit, I employ the same writing and editing strategies I can offer you.
Really, my goal is simple, take a thought and turn it into a cohesive and professional piece of writing, one that shows how much energy, thought, and experience you have to offer your readers.
